Obituary of Ethel Lavina Godsoe

Please share a memory of Ethel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grammie and Nana, Ethel Lavina Godsoe (Moore) on Monday, April 29, 2024 at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on February 13, 1940 in Scotch Lake, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lavina Moore. Ethel was an active member of the Mactaquac United Baptist Church and she enjoyed socializing with her church groups, puzzling, quilting, knitting and crocheting. Ethel will be remembered for her sassy personality, her love for Elvis and her endless supply of chocolate chips in her freezer. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her grand-dog, Bentley.

She is survived by her daughters, Samantha Morehouse (Billy), Shyanne Godsoe-Brown (Troy) and Wendy Morehouse (Craig); grandchildren, Rachel Hanson (Shane), Brandon Godsoe, Crystal Morehouse, Megan Godsoe, Rebecca Watling (Kyle), Emily Morehouse and Tristan Brown; great-grandchildren, Keyonna Burtt, Keira Godsoe, Piper Hanson, Colin Toole, Jaden Morehouse, Paige Godsoe and Gavin Godsoe; a great-great-granddaughter, Kamari Burtt; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Godsoe; and a great-grandchild, baby Kayleb Godsoe.

A Funeral Service will take place at Mactaquac Baptist Church on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 2 pm with Pastor Peter Beckwith officiating. Those who would like to pay their respects can do so before the funeral from 1 to 2 pm. Pallbearers are Rachel Hanson, Shane Hanson, Rebecca Watling, Kyle Watling, Emily Morehouse and Tristan Brown. Interment will take place at Scotch Settlement Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances can be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
