Obituary of Bessie Elizabeth Reed

The passing of Bessie “Betty” Elizabeth Reed of Fredericton, NB, wife of David Reed, occurred on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Hospice Fredericton. Born on December 27, 1945 in Charlottetown, PE, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Ethel Bryenton.

 

Betty worked in the admissions office at UNB up until she had her two daughters. She was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church; she enjoyed baking, knitting, reading, and playing card games and entertaining with family and friends. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchild.

 

In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her children, Julie Reed (Jeff LeDrew) and Kim Reed both of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Kaylee, Kaden and Noah; great grandson, Everett; brothers, Lloyd Bryenton (Marlene) and Robert Bryenton (Florence) both of Charlottetown, PE; and several nieces and nephews.

 

We would like to thank everyone at Hospice Fredericton for the wonderful and loving care provided during Betty’s final months, we will forever be grateful for your kindness and compassion.

 

A Memorial Service will be held from Nashwaaksis United Church, 46 Main Street, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 2 pm with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating. Interment will take place in Dayton Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton, Nashwaaksis United Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
