Lucia Da Cunha
1920-2008
The passing of Lucia Da Cunha, of Stanley, NB, occurred on August 25,
2008 at Nashwaak Villa. Born on April 15, 1920 in Valença,
Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Arturio Gonçalves
Fernandes and Piadade das Dores Gonçalves. Lucia formerly
worked as a seamstress at Levine’s for 20 years. She was a
member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 4 and enjoyed
sculpturing.
She is survived by her step-son, José Da Cunha; several grandchildren; brother, Carrelos Gonçalves Fernandes; sisters, Cerzelina and Maria Alice Gonçalves Fernandes; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Duarte Pedro Ramalheira; step-son, Joaquim Da Cunha and sister, Emilia Gonçalves Fernandes.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 11 am with Rev. Gerald M. White officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
