The MacFawn family sadly announces the passing of Russell Howard
MacFawn, born March 6, 1940 in Fredericton, NB. Husband of Shirley
(Preston) MacFawn, son of the late Howard and Louise (Robichaud)
MacFawn.
Russ is survived by his wife Shirley, three sons, Tim, Jim and Tony (Sherrie); one daughter, Michelle Cody (Gary); seven grandchildren, Alley, Abbey, Ben, Tanya, Julie, Sam (Ben) and Sarah; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Gavin and Kassie.
Russ has left behind to mourn three sisters, Marlene Hopkins, Muriel (Bunnie) Courier, and Marjorie Jones; one brother, Fred and their families; several aunts and uncles; very special aunt, Bobbie Dunlap; many nieces and nephews; Shirley’s brothers and sisters and their spouses and significant others whom Russ cherished as his own brothers and sisters.
Having grown up in Fredericton then returning in retirement Russ leaves behind many life long friends, as well as very close friends he and Shirley made and stayed in touch with over their years of being stationed in different areas of the Atlantic Provinces. Russ was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 2 pm with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
