3 Steps To Planning Ahead
Step 1 - Start the conversation with one of our licensed funeral professionals.
Most people have not attended or planned many funerals; therefore, it is important to know the variety of traditions and the newest trends. Many of our families know what they don’t want but are unsure of what they want, due to lack of information. Have you considered including a poem written by a loved one, a wedding style reception or even a non-traditional location?
Step 2 - Discuss these choices with your family and/or friends.
We have had situations where families did not know Mom or Dad’s preferences until it was too late. For instance, being cremated instead of buried. The information came to light when the will was read a few days after the funeral. Imagine the unnecessary stress felt by these grieving families. Also, consider involving your friends. They may be insulted if they are not included in some way.
Step 3 - Decide cost and funding.
Talk to your funeral director to give you a cost estimate of your choices. Also, who will pay for the funeral and how will it be paid?
