My brother, Jim, and I are the owners and managers of York Funeral Home, which has been an important part of the Fredericton North community since its establishment in 1979. Following in our father's footsteps, and with many thanks to the families we have served over the years, we have established a good reputation in the Fredericton and surrounding area as a caring family business.
Following graduation from Fredericton High School in 1982, I began my training and apprenticeship as a funeral director, and became a Licensed Funeral Director in 1985. I am currently an active participant in the industry in my role as board member on the New Brunswick Funeral Directors and Embalmers Board. I was further honoured in 2005 by my peers on the New Brunswick Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association, by being nominated to represent New Brunswick on The Funeral Service Association of Canada. From 2006-2010 I chaired the national Education Committee and from 2011-2012 I was the President of the Funeral Service Association of Canada. My participation at both provincial and federal levels of the funeral industry assures that the families who have come to trust us continue to receive the highest quality of service, from our family and staff alike.
On a personal level, my strength and support come from my 5 children: Harmony, Doug, Nick, Kayla and Tommy. In my leisure time (when that's possible!), I enjoy my commitment to coaching the St. Thomas University Men's Basketball Team, and one of the many highlights of working with these young men included earning silver at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association National Tournament in 2004 and a bronze in 2012.

I have been doing Administration at York Funeral Home since 2004. I moved here 12 years ago from McAdam, where I grew up, and now reside with my husband in Killarney. My experience working here as well as the recent loss of my son, Grady, has taught me what’s important in life: family, friends, faith, health and happiness.

I have been part of the York and Miramichi Valley Funeral Home family since 2006.
I grew up on the Miramichi where I developed a keen interest for salmon fishing.
Like many other Maritimers, I travelled West, spending over a decade in the
Northwest and Yukon Territories. Being far from home and all things familiar,
I quickly realized the importance of family.
I am happy that I made the decision to move back home, where I am involved
in my community and my church. I still love fishing, but now, my first passion is
my family.
